welcome to the new
living up to the name, will soon start publishing lyrical pieces.

welcome.
i just finished my last memoir class with a small group of fellow writers, where we learned how to write about a memory. i took a similar class in the fall on how to write lyrical essays. what i love about the process of writing from a memory or of a specific object or person, is that i don't have a destination in mind. i write freely, and from this, i unearth deeply personal pieces of a place, time and moment that back then, seemed mundane—and now, is profound.

over the past year, i have accumulated a good amount of lyrical pieces. i'm debating if i share these writings for free, or behind a (smol) paywall. these pieces are deeply personal, ranging from devastating loss to memories i'll always cherish.
until then, i'll continue to drop my free essays bi-weekly. i appreciate the patience as i continue to build out my studio.
stay a while. grab your favorite hydrating drink, get comfy and cozy, and read an essay…or two…or all.
enjoy, and as always, welcome.
peace,
yas j.
